The economists

We hear: “Economists have only one message on carbon : the price effect and the carbon tax”.

This would be a waste, because economists are the experts on the allocation of scarce resources: an issue at the heart of decarbonation.

For us economists, enlarged accounting opens up a new dimension to our expertise, allowing our science to walk on two legs: money and carbon.

It is up to us to build the enlarged carbon economy : its enlarged national accounting system, its competition based on prices and weights, the players who will represent the behaviour of forests or oceans, etc.
